go to the schneithorst inn across the street from the plaza frontnac and order a spaten optimater on tap.
new belgium.. love it! get some of that 1554! at the brewery they also had organic sunshine... pretty tasty.
Come on, Crazytrain, you can get Spaten anywhere. Go to the Schlaffly Bottleworks (Maplewood, MO) in late January. It is the only place you can get a pint of their Kaldi's Coffee Stout and/or Imperial Stout. Warning, after a pint of either, your tastebuds are shot for a day or two.
Have you had an optimater on tap? It's smoooooth.
Of course I'll always be a stout man when it comes to beer. I'm a stout man when it comes to everything now that I think about it....
I've never had the coffee stout, but I had some kind of stout there, once. It was good. Once I had a chocolate stout and I thought it sucked.
I have not had Spaten on tap. I love the optimator, so I might have to try it. (hi jack)
I really am glad to be the anonymous, little corner in the internet-blog world where you guys can keep up... I really mean it.
DRU,
It's worth having at least once, plus on Tuesdays I think they have free appetizers in the bar. And oh...
"Joe"- please try to keep your comments on topic or Dru and I will have to block you from posting in the future. geesh.
seriously Joe, come on.
why are there only boys leaving comments on this brew? of course, i've never had the pleasure of sampling it, so i actually have no relevant comment to make, i'm just enjoying your blog. i was listening to NPR and Teri Grose was interviewing Steward Murdock (i nerdily knew nothing of him)and the song, if you find yourself in love, thank the Man above caught my attention; i googled it, and your page came up and i'm still looking around to see why. (:
i'm a linguistics prof (girl, obviously?) in Texas with a passion for getting Christianity out of the box and spreading the GOOD news that you don't have to be an SNL church lady to be a part of the kingdom of God. any song that says "thank God for saving your sorry ass" is a friend of mine(known locally as ee, the cussing Christian). i've looked at approximately 3 blogs in my life and left a comment on maybe one, so i have no script for it and have probably just created the equivalent of a very awkward social moment at a party i'm not supposed to be at. that's me aspiring to be the next erving goffman.
