Absolutely not, but it's really funny to hear him crack wise on Wait Wait -- Don't Tell Me. Such a voice sounds like it should be absolutely humorless, but that proves false.
Also . . . Dan Schorr's voice is about ten times worse.
Speaking of Wait Wait Don't Tell Me, I believe that if you win on that call-in show, Carl Kassell will leave the outgoing message on your voice mail for your phone. Something like "Hello, this is Carl Kassell. You've reached the voice mail box of Joe Haack......"
