In defense of a commercialized Christmas

One theologian defends the commercialism of Christmas. If you dont want to read the actual article, I'll sum it up for you:
1. No matter how fuzzy, shallow, warm, non-spiritual, and "secularized" Christmas will be--our actions still in the end bring honor to Christ...you just cant get around it (Phil 2:10-11) "And such honor is fitting."
2. Christmas should be "unspiritual" to a large degree. It is about the miracle of the Incarnation-a massive affirmation of the flesh, the body, this world, our senses. What American Christianity needs is a little affirmation of the flesh. --and by that I dont mean sin.
3. Christmas should be the biggest consumer-holiday! The malls should be jammed. Ultimately, Christmas is about grace, which is a gift. And whether people like to admit it our not, gift-giving is a reflection of grace. And everyone, including Christians, could use a lesson on gift-recieving.

There is no defense: Jesus was born in a barn and wasn't wrapped in baby gap.
