Two Things
All reading from Columbus: cherish and adore your public library. You are blessed to have a library with selection, location, and electronic check out. Let's just say St. Louis must funnel their tax money to other things. That was yesterday's dissapointing discovery.
That was yesterday. Today, Josie and I found out where that money is going. The Art Museum. Free. Down the street from us. Loaded with quality art. That is today's incredible find.

You may know this already, but there are several completely seperate library systems in this area - the St. Louis Public Library (and all its branches), the St. Louis County Library (and all its branches) and the collection of township libraries (and they are linked together amongst themselves).
It took me some time to get used to that, but we've been fairly happy with what they've collectively had to offer, particularly in the way of children's summer reading programs...

The parks. That's where they must spend their money. Also, come on, Columbus wins awards for its libraries. Weren't we #1 or #2 in the whole nation this year?! Also, don't forget that the zoo is free (not as nice but free). Oh, and go to the Muny. They used to have a whole section of free seats in the back. The science center used to be free too. Check it out. Oh, the humidity is also free.
